Special Education Program Mission Statement
 
The mission of the special education program at MNIC is to serve students at their educational level and provide support to help them meet their post-secondary goals.
 

Special Education Services in the Least Restrictive Environment
 
MNIC offers a wide range of special education services and programming that strives to be the least restrictive as possible. All students are able to access the maximum amount of general education classes based on their individualized education programs.
 

The Unity Special Education Program
 
The special education program at Unity serves students in federal settings I and II. The students are able to access their special education programming in both general education and special education settings. The program offers push-in and pull-out minutes, resource classes for math and language arts, and co-teaching. The individual student programming is based on their specific services and least restrictive environment.
 

The Downtown Special Education Program
 
The special education program at Downtown serves students in federal settings I, II, and lII. The students are able to access their special education programming in both general education and special education settings. The program offers push-in and pull-out minutes, resource classes for math and language arts, and co-teaching. The individual student programming is based on their specific services and least restrictive environment.
 

The Rondo Special Education Program
 
The special education program at Rondo serves students in federal settings I, II, and lII. The students are able to access their special education programming in both general education and special education settings. The SOAR Special Education Program
 
The special education program at SOAR serves students in federal settings I and II. The students are able to access their special education programming in both general education and special education settings. The program offers push-in and pull-out minutes, resource classes for math and language arts, and co-teaching. The individual student programming is based on their specific services and least restrictive environment.
 

Practical Assessment Exploration System (PAES)
 
Practical Assessment Exploration System (PAES) lab is located at the SOAR campus. PAES is a semester long class designed to teach students work based learning skills in a structured environment. Each student will have weekly tasks to complete and will be assessed based on their completion and professionalism. The students will be provided assessments at the middle and end of the semester the students will be given a report on their work skills, what they have mastered, and the skills they should continue to develop. Students only take PAES once during their high school career and PAES is open to students district-wide.
