MNIC began at the Unity Campus in 2003. Unity offers two strong programs--the Transportation Circle and the Health and Family circle Be sure to see the incredible renovation of the building by clicking here! The Transportation Circle emphasizes solid academic skills and well as careers in transportation. This goes from Driver’s Education to careers and internships at MN DOT. The Health and Family Circle prepares the learners for work in the health and family careers, as well as healthy family living. The program curriculum consists of career exploration, service learning projects, internships and skills development to be able to obtain a paid position and live a healthy lifestyle in order to work and raise a healthy family. Participants in the program have the opportunity and option to prepare themselves as certified nursing assistants or build family business as daycare providers and other healthcare careers offering a decent living and helping students raise a healthy family at the same time. The program also covers family finances, investments, banking and parenting skills. The core subjects (math, science, social studies, reading and writing) are integrated in our daily learning of the health and family areas. One of the core focuses is on the Basic Standard test.
